Surf Lessons

La Union is renowned as the surf capital of the north. You can find swell year-round, with the most consistent months being from November to March when the Amihan season blows, creating waves suitable for both beginners and more advanced surfers. Beaches and surf spots are within walking distance. Recommended surf schools include San Juan Surf Resort, Marven Surf School, and El Union Classic.

Tangadan Falls

Tangadan Falls has a height of 15 meters (50 feet). With its majestic two-tier cascading waterfalls and clear, cold water, it has become a must-visit destination in the Philippines. It's about a 30-minute drive from San Juan, and you can also organize a tricycle ride. It's an amazing place to refresh with spring water for half a day.

Freediving

A group of passionate freedivers has recently opened a freediving school in La Union. There are a few spots with great visibility. You can ask our host, Kei; she is one of the founders.

Sunset

La Union, San Juan, is famous for its beautiful sunsets year-round. Whether you sit on the beach or at Kermit Siargao, you can enjoy the golden hour and experience some of the best sunsets imaginable.

• Kermit La Union: A must-visit restaurant overlooking the beach and the surf point. They offer pizza, pasta, appetizers, and amazing cocktails. DJ every Friday and Saturday. Located in GNW. A 10-minute walk from the villa.

• El Union Café: One of the original spots in La Union, offering quality coffee and good vibes to the north. Located in GNW.

• Chu's Diner: A fantastic and authentic Japanese restaurant also located in GNW.

• Flotsam and Jetsam: A very popular restaurant and party place with great design, primarily for the younger generation.

• La Kantina: An authentic Italian-Mediterranean restaurant known for its amazing cocktails, wine, and food. Fully air-conditioned, and famous for the (un-)famous afterparty every Friday and Saturday. Located in Port San Juan.

• Bebos: Next to La Kantina, this food stall offers amazing Indian food. Great owners.

• San Juan Surf Restaurant: If you're looking for great Ilokano food, look no further. In the same place, you'll find the amazing Seabuds bowls and juices, as well as the San Juan Surf Shop.

• Ugly Bar: One of the best party bars in town, with great cocktails and ambiance for a wilder night. Located across the street from Villa Aurora.

• Tasting Room: The newest wine bar in San Juan, also located across the road from Villa Aurora, offering a wide selection of wine and pica pica. An amazing place.

• Halu: A very good ice cream place, right next to the tasting room.

• Masa by Barefoot: An iconic LU place with affordable pastries, food, and coffee.8 min drive from the villa
